Fun at Both Ends of the Leash!
Dogs are perfect at being dogs. They bark; they chew; they dig; they chase; they jump up. But since they live with us, they need to learn how to be dogs and live by our rules.
The difference between an ill-mannered dog and a happy well-behaved dog almost always comes down to early socialization and training. No matter what your dog’s age, it’s never too late to teach him new tricks—and good manners.
At Cascade Pet Camp, we believe training should be fun. So we’ll help you turn it into a game that you, your dog and everyone in your family can play. We offer a wide range of training classes designed to help dogs live happy, healthy lives and develop deeper relationships with their families.
Dogs do what works — for themselves, right now. They learn from the immediate results of their behavior. The key to effective training then is changing the consequences of their behaviors so doing what you want pays off for them.
Cascade Pet Camp embraces scientifically proven, positive training methods that rely on earning rewards and having fun while learning. Our gentle, punishment-free approach is based on proven scientific principles, not outdated myths and traditions.
Despite respected science about how animals learn, the dog-training field isn’t yet regulated. With no licensing or oversight, anyone can claim to be an animal trainer or behaviorist, and even hold certifications, making it hard to know who’s really qualified to train you and your pup and who isn’t.
Cascade Pet Camp trainers and behaviorists are professionals with in-depth training and experience. We are also members of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and comply with their Code of Ethical Conduct and Responsibility.
Cascade Pet Camp founder and director, Jenni Lott, holds a PhD in behavioral ecology from UCLA, has 25 years of experience training dogs, and is committed to keeping up-to-date about current standards, as well as new developments in the field.
